How to Play Blackjack Expert
The worldwide popularity of blackjack is due to its simplicity – if you obtain a higher card total than the dealer without going over 21, you win the hand. To start a hand, each player places how much he wants to bet on the hand into a betting box and is dealt two cards (cards from 2-10 are used for that value; jacks, queens and kings are valued at 10 while an Ace can be used as either 1 or 11).
The player then plays the hand by either taking no more cards (‘Standing’) or taking additional cards (‘Hitting’) to try and get as close to 21 as possible. If the player goes over 21 then he loses the hand automatically. When the player is finished, the dealer will then try to beat the total of the player’s cards without going over 21.
